Wedding Bomboniere (Favours)

Hi guys

Looking for ideas for wedding bomboniere (favours). Prefer to support local but budget only extends to about $5-6 pp..

  • One wedding we went to had pretty boxes with jelly beans in them. Maybe little tins with mints, etc.

Receipt and a thank you card for a $5 dollar donation to a charity.

And tape an after dinner mint to it.

Go with the corny stuff, it works a treat.

Small jar of seeds for a fruit/veg or tree that you both love, with "Let the love grow" message

Jar of home made jam, with "Spread the love" message.

Something that lasts a while that people will actually use. I like the jam suggestion. Or even the jelly beans.

I went to one with macaroons and had to throw them out two days later because they were stale.

We gave everyone a tiny succulent, no “let the love grow” messages or anything lol
Can buy bulk plants within your budget

We received a test tube filled with loose leaf tea from https://www.customfavours.com.au/collections/test-tubes/prod…. It also came with a tea infuser but with your budget, I saw that the website does some great cheap favours.

Don't give them. No one cares and people just chuck them in the bin. Save money.

You can ask charities if you're able to main a donation per person in exchange a thank you card - eg "X amount has been donated in your name to this Charity".

What we did was buy the boxes from aliexpress/lightinthebox/jjshouse, then stickers from aliexpress and jelly beans from Costco - fair bit of manual work but the cost per person was about 1-2. IMO there's better things you could spend the money on (bonbonierres was one of our regrets)

Not sure how much it cost pp, but a wedding I went to recently had a tiny hangover kit. Hydralyte and 2 paracetamol tablets.

They were in little canvas/fabric bags and they stamped their wedding details on it themselves.

I thought it was handy and thoughtful. Haha

Yeah i've had this. At first I felt it was a little tacky, but actually appreciated it in the morning haha. They did it extremely well

Pro tip … just give it a miss. You're already forking out thousands (probably) and this is (potentially) another $500 - $1,000 on what is often junk that will be lucky to leave the reception.

This is a great job to delegate and keep busy the person who is sticking their nose in to other planning details. You can make it sound of vital importance, and if it keeps them out of other things, great.

My wife is Indian so we got some cool little Indian coasters (wood with indian design on them) in sets of 4x for each person. People still use them to this day and always remember our day as a result.

I don't think they were overly expensive since they were made there and shipped. I know that isn't necessarily possible for everyone but it was cool and better than a small packet of pointless chocolates

Our wedding is this month and we got some silk fans with our name and wedding date printed on them from aliexpress for about $1.50 each.

Zapal's freebies , or Xiaomi usb light enhanced edition

Thanks everyone definitely given me some direction to start looking in. :)

As an alternative, One wedding I went to gave out a “mix tape” cd of the couples fav music with a custom print disc, was something different (had 14 weddings that year) and chucked it in the car on the way home
Some sentimental songs and some daggy ones
Woulda been a low cost option and was fun enough idea as we laughed at some, as they gave a description of why each song was included

      • I read something similar at lunch of someone else who had done that and I was thinking mannn where can someone even play a cd?

DUH - completely forgot the car :P
