Was in the same position, but the console and game itself is amazingly quite expensive in second hand. You can hook up aftermarket controllers to your PC and use ePSXe there.

Ahh, I meant to use an .iso file from a romsite. Not sure if using the actual game disc works.
@Triton: I've almost always used coolroms, never had a problem with them and their .iso files work well with ePSXe.
There is a little playing around with controller settings to use 4 ps3 controllers in it
Crash Bandicoot is easily the best series on Playstation 1, followed closely by Spyro.
Supposedly there is a remake of CTR for PS4 coming
Also the PS1 Classics line works on PSP and Vita.
Kinda weird and or dumb that they haven't shoved a PS1 emulator into the PS4 by this point but whatever. Crash is a killer portable game, played the living shit out of it on my Xperia Play way back when.
CTR is the only reason i'm holding on my PS3. Think i bought CTR for $15 back then on PSN.
