Selling Foreign Shares in AUS - What Stockbroker?

Just say I have significant shares on the Nikkei, Hang Seng or the FTSE100 and I want to sell them.

How would I go about that here?

"Just say" or do you actually have shares and want to move them?

    Post in OzBargain classifieds.

However, I would use a stockbroker, probably the one I used when I purchased.

  • If you have an ASX broker they may have an arrangement with an international broker (mine has with Pershing).
That makes the paperwork slightly easier.
But basically, it is tedious and comparatively costly compared to using a broker in the listing country.
If you have bank accounts/addresses in the listing country, I would register with the local broker there.

    • Yeah basically my thoughts. I have shares left over from an uncle who passed away so I'm not wanting to fly back to sort this portion of the estate if I dont have to.

      • I know brokers here have “one off” provisions to make single sales to wind up an estate. Maybe see who his brokers were, and get them on the phone.
