Sydney - Darling Harbour - Friday/Saturday - Cheapest Overnight parking option?

Going to be in Sydney from ~11am next Friday till ~8pm Saturday, staying in Darling Harbour and looking for the cheapest convenient parking option.

Looks like Wilson Parking 'Book a Bay' at Darling Quarter is $60.50 for that time period

Anyone got any tips for cheaper?

  • If nothing else works, you can get 20% off Wilson 'Book a Bay' with mastercard (link below)

    https://debit.mastercard.com.au/offers/wilson-parking

    • doesnt apply to overnight parking though

      • ah ok, yeah not too sure then

  • Where are you staying? Some hotels give discounts to customers, but since you're staying over 24 hours it might turn out the same price as Wilson's.

The usual tip is don't park in the city on a weekday, but this may not suit you. Most people park on the street near a suburban train station with untimed parking.

    • -1

      Ovolo in Darling Harbour
they have a slight discount with the wilsons near them, but its $42/24 hour.. so thats more than the book-a-bay rate it seems (though at a Wilsons less than 10 mins walk away)

      • Ovolo Wilson’s Parking is available opposite our hotel for a special guest rate of $39.00 / 24 hours

        • no idea why i got a -ve for that comment

My query to the hotel said
"A Wilson’s Parking station is located opposite our hotel, the entrance is also on Murray Street. Hotel guests receive a discounted rate of AU$42.00 per 24 hour period with a validated ticket from hotel reception. Spaces are limited and not allocated, availability is on a first come first served basis. "

regardless, $39/24 hour is still $78 for the time period I'm looking at

  • You can park near glebe or ultimo (free parking) and take buses. If you are a student, you can park on Broadway shopping center for $20 a day but only apply on weekdays and its free after 6pm.

  • Move the car during your stay? Might take some working out to get it cheaper. Or find a way of using public transport for the last bit of the journey and park a bit further out where it’s cheaper.

  • $50 at The Star

    • isn't that per 24 hours though?
"a maximum daily rate of $50 per 24 hours period will apply."

  • That's a fair price and it should be your best price considering it's close by where you are staying.

The area N and NE of Darling harbour could cost you anywhere between $65 - $85 just for Friday alone excluding overnight surcharge and Saturday.

There are cheaper (not much cheaper) parking at Town Hall, Haymarket (E and SE) and Ultimo (W) but they are hit and miss and could be too far from where you are staying.
