Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime Working on Optus but Not Virgin Mobile

Hi Guys

Bought a Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime from Aliexpress a year or so ago. Has worked perfectly on Optus 4g and 3g for the last 12 months.
Just ported mine and my wife's service to Virgin Mobile, chucked in the sims after confirmation and works fine on my Redmi Note 3 (B28 version) but showing no service on the missus Redmi 4 Prime. Swapped sims and still not working on the Redmi 4 Prime. Put her Sim in an old Galaxy S4 and works fine.

I'm kind on thinking its the phone. But it was working fine on Optus??

Any help would be appreciated.

    Did you check apn settings on it?

      Yep. Wont even go into the APN settings menu.

      Nope. No settings listed. Tried adding virgin APN settings for internet/mms.

      "Access point name settings not available for this user"

        This might work. Change language on phone to something else, then back to English and restart phone. Then in the APN settings tap Reset to Default.

        Also might be worth trying the second SIM slot.

          Cheers Clear. Funny enough it works in the 2nd sim Slot. Just cant have a microSD card. But lucky i got the 32gb version. Cheers!!

    As far as I know, no Redmi Note 4 has band 28. Only the Redmi Note 3 "Kate" version has it.

    Are you in an urban area or an area where there are only limited Vodafone bands?
    Are the available Vodafone bands supported by the Redmi 4 Prime?
    Does her SIM work okay in your phone?
