Any Recommendation on PC Desktop around Brisbane Area?

can someone recommend any trusted and price-friendly business or shop around Brisbane for PC desktop?

i am currently looking for a PC, mainly for the following purposes:

DVD playback
Movie playback (mostly 1080p file)
internet browsing
a bit of work use (MS office based)

No gaming needed at all. I am looking at a good display card that can support good display on the TV, i am currently using my laptop and found that its not giving good enough display on a 55" TV.

budget set around $500 if possible.

thanks fellow ozbargainer.

A refurbished dell optiplex 9010 or 9020 go for around $200-$400 and may suit your needs.

the integrated intel graphics might be enough for 1080p video and tv output (depending on tv resolution, the tv size doesn't matter).
if it isn't enough, you can always add a low profile video card to handle that.

check that the motherboard IO include hdmi if you're using integrated graphics.

    - problem is on your TV. you need at least 4k on 55" TV to "look good" when displaying from PC/laptop

budget set around $500 if possible.
    - ryzen 2200g apu build will fit your budget. minimum 8gb ram / 120g ssd / cheapie mobo+psu+case / no need graphic card / *** but no windows ***

A refurbished Dell is usually the best route for budget desktops. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/dell-optiplex-9020

    • Good call - these are great little machines.

OP the seller in that eBay listing (Australian Computer Traders) is based in central Brisbane and they have a ton of options around the budget you're looking for.

Alternatively, there are a bunch of cheap Dell machines here around $600-700 - the listed price includes a full manufacturer's warranty and postage to your door, and they usually include keyboard, mouse and modern Windows license so they're exceptional value.
