Best Bluetooth Adapter?

Hi all,

Looking to purchase a Bluetooth adapter for my PC to use with my xbox one controller and perhaps headphones in the future. Is it just a case of buying a cheapy off ali express or ebay? or is there a recommended product to get for better quality?

Cheers,

    Get the original one.

I went to JB last week, they had it advertised for $29 and got it for $25.

Sometimes the cheapies don't cut it and can have issues down the track.

Imagine half-way playing a game and then it cuts out due to being a non-genuine product?

    What's $25 these days?

    Cheers

So buy an original one, whatever that is, because of a scenario you imagined up and because you don't understand that $25 is $25 somehow.

      • Firstly, can I ask you a question.
Do you have one? That is a PC with a Xbox one controller & a bluetooth adapter?
Instead of giving useless comments as it seems like you are bored, a constructive one will be probably more suitable

I can clearly see you don't understand my point.
I'll try to explain this to you: "What's $25 these days?" - My point is to say that $25 is not much money these days. You can't buy much with $25. So buy the original and don't look back

Read @ stussy comment below. I am not alone here

    • Thanks for the reply, do you know if that adaptor is a bluetooth adaptor that i could use with bluetooth headphones? or is it just for the controller exclusively.

      • I have the genuine and only use it for the Xbox one controller and it works flawlessly.
I am not sure of the headphones however I think you can pair 4 devices .. however need to check.

People try to save a few bucks and by getting an after-market one. Some may work well but others don't @stussy mentions this. That's a chance you take.

Then you have to go through contacting the seller and reverse logistics, time, postage etc to get $15 back (I have seen some aftermarkets for $15 on ebay)

        Is it worth it?
That's for you to decide :-)

        Cheers

Some don't work the cheapo ones i have don't work :(

As stated above best of getting genuine.

  • FWIW, I am using this Orico bluetooth adapter that I got for $1 USD during a sale and it works nicely with Xbox One S controller.

The sound quality however on Bluetooth to my Sony noise cancelling headphones however… seems to be AptX but it doesn't seem to support aptX HD, and I can tell the difference due to data compression

They cost around $10 ~ 15 AUD when bought locally.

  • I got one from PC Case gear through eBay sale last year for around $10 delivered:
Volans (VL-BT40) Mini USB2.0 Bluetooth V4.0 Dongle (CSR Chipset)
Many of the local shops have it, I get good range with it with both audio and HID (keyboard/mouse/gamepad).
Do note that my cheapie 2.4ghz media keyboard was cashing issues with it and when I moved that dongle to a USB port away from this one the issues went away.
And now my case is hidden away so I've moved the Bluetooth dongle out using a USB extender and get evenonged range than when it was plugged directly to PC.
