Just a heads up, apparently this game performs terribly. Have a quick google of NBA 2K18 Switch Performance.

    • I don't have it, but I've only read good things about the port from people who have it. I think it may have had issues at launch which have since been patched. Still seems to get updates.

      • Ah okay! I heard there were patches, but I thought it still had issues. More than happy to be wrong though. A good NBA game on switch is only a good thing :)

    • As someone who has had the game since (physical) launch, I can say it runs perfectly fine. Sure, it's 30fps, but dips are fairly uncommon now since all the updates and I've managed to rack up over 100 hours play time. WWW 2K18 on the other hand runs awfully.

One thing to note - MyCareer requires a constant internet connection which somewhat defeats the purpose of having 2k on the go unless you have a mobile hotspot.

Still a lot of fun though

      • To add to ninternets comments. I got this game recently. Coming from someome playing this on PS4 and PC the past decade, you're definitely not going to get the graphics and exactly game play on the smaller screen. I hated it at first because it reminded me of 2k when it came out on the phone. But as you put afew more hours into and get used to it, I'm really hooked into it and can play it for hours each time. The portability is just unmatched, not having to spend 15 mins booting up my PS4 and waiting for all the load screens.

  • Any other deals get put up since last night when I was on the eShop last? Don't wanna make the effort of getting up and getting the thing only to find this is the only new deal.

Also, I rented the game from my library just to see how it played for a friend who was looking at it, and it ran fine for the five minutes I played it. I'm not a basketball guy, like I couldn't care less, but those 5 minutes were fine. Could turn to shit later though, I don't know.

  • eshop prices are terrible. It's also a poorly unoptimized port

    • Yet it's cheaper than physical

      • Bad prices in general. There is the rare sale, but it's generally only the less popular games. Expect to see 1-2 Switch next.

When's the last time you played it? It's far from unoptimised in its current state

  • which version of NBA to get? normal or legendary?

  • Thanks for the heads up Thrymr! I was preparing myself to pay full price and then this notification popped up. Great :)
