Looking for Laptop for Kids

one niece just entered high school and another is in year 5, both could use a laptop, not after anything to fancy but something that they can use for internet and use office and other such things, any recommendation for a cheaper laptop like that, would need to buy 2

thanks in advance :)

Do you have a price range? Under $500, $500-$1000, under $1500?

  • The answer to all these is the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 w/ 4gb 120ssd and quad core pentium.

Pretty much the official laptop of this place.

11" is fine for kids, its a bit icky for adults.

  • Kogan have a cheaper brand called Atlas, won't set the world on fire but should fit the purpose.
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-atlas-133-c300-convertibl…
    Or
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/YEPO-13-3-inch-Windows-10-Ap…
(have never used this brand but apparently comes with world wide cover so might be worth a look)
    Or
Ebay, something like a i3 or i5 and pop an SSD in it. You can sometimes get some good deals still
    Or
thee ye olde faithful Gumtree for some deals in your area.

    Good luck.

  • i just bought a refurbished Lenovo Ideapad for ~$127 from graysonline ebay with code PREWINTER

    Lenovo IdeaPad 100S-14IBR 14" WXGA/IntelC-N3060/4GB/31GB EMMC/Intel HD

apparently this model is upgradable with a m2 ssd.

also takes microsd card for expandable secondary storage

I'm happy to pay a low amount for a refurbished low spec'd machine which meets my daughters needs for grade 7 (word processing and internetz) and she'll will grow out of in 2 years. and then I can sell at a marginal loss.

    • code isnt working, is that the right one or is it expired ?

      • expired yesterday :(

there is PICK5 for 5% off.

or you could wait for another 20% off which includes graysonline (current 20% code PRINT does not include them)
