Shite, clunky, noisy, all plastic. I've owned it before. Stick to your paddles.

      That's a paddlin'!

wtf.. I would never recommend using paddles for manual gear shifter cars in race sims.. what do you play? NFS, F1 or something? this shifter is entry level, you wouldn't buy this if you don't play those kind of games anyway..

      • No I actually use TH8A with a T300 Gran Turismo Edition but I'd use paddles over these. Though I know many very good Sim racers who use their paddles to great effect and use manual transmission. I also know a few guys who use this wheel who could likely woop your ass as well. I play Project Cars 1/2 and GT Sport myself.

Paddles on manual gear shift is called cheating mate.
find me a TH8A that's not 5 times the price of this shifter or recommend another entry level shifter that's similar in price..

@Oz8argain: I've played with a well known community for a few years and that's the first time I've heard it called cheating? I'm not sure why I need to find a similar priced shifter either.

        • @Oz8argain: How is this cheating? Paddle is just much faster to reach. When it comes to being competitive, paddle has the upper hand. You can't expect people playing all to have a shifter. And the cars in most of series that most people race online has paddles or sequential in real life anyway (for example, everybody's loved GT3/GT4, super v8, and etc). I PREFER driving cars that uses H pattern just because I like the feeling of moving the gear knob around, but paddles are no way cheating and I can see why some people prefer it.

          ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

        • @youkatei: Look, I’m don’t do much online competitive racing and not sure how games like iRacing would restrict difficulty settings. If you want to be competitive and gain an advantage, wouldn’t you just use full auto and turn all assists on?
I was imagining Group B rally when everyone is shifting and heel-toeing while you’re casually paddling away, it’s a little ‘cheating’ but I guess no one can find a f**k give anyway. Play however you want to play.

          No, because it's slower.

        • @Mic Cullen: this is so right

      I agree.

My mate has one and I prefer to use the paddles.

I find the H pattern is a bit dodgy.

I'd love a sequential shifter though.

When I had the G25 (that came with the H-pattern shifter) I only used it when mucking around for a bit of silly fun in GT5.
Now onto G29, I don't miss it, and when these deals come up, I think "hmm… should I get it?" for a split second before remembering.

Save your $40 for the next racing game :)

Expired? $71.07 is the cheapest via Amazon.

    • Appears it's back @ $36… lol Amazon can't decide if it's available or not.

Not sure if Harvey Norman deal is still current but I went in store and asked if they could drop the price any lower. Got 1 for $30.
