Why can't you write the book yourself?

Also, how much are you really willing to pay somebody to do this. I hope you are not thinking that this will be some sort of job that $100 will cover.

    • I agree, it's not a cheap job to get a writer in. You've got to think about the amount of hours they'll be spending to perfect your fiction book.
I might have someone I know that is a writer but you've got to open up your messages

      • Thanks please try messaging now.

    • ^ itll probably cost $100/hr for a freelance writer

  • Fiverr has some freelance ghostwriters marketing their wares. First time users can get $5.40 cashback from CR.

Why dont you write it first then get someone to clean it up for you.
The important thing is to get the idea from your head on to some paper to show that you came up with the story first

Respected fiction author here. If you provide me with a draft I can negotiate with you or connect to my affiliates depending on quality.

    • Thanks can you please message me your previous work.

  • Now I feel I did not give complete info. Apologies guys - clearly it shows I need the help haha.
I want to write it myself but considering English is my second language I need some help clean it up / make it less compact instead of just using simple words etc and I am not sure how I can still have the ownership of that content in case someone wants to take it from me.

I can correct all the spelling and grammatical errors for $50/h. I work quite quickly too.

    • Before you do any of this, ask yourself, do you want to get it published by a reputable publishing house or do you want to self-publish (aka vanity publishing).

If you want to be a published author, you only need to write a chapter or so, and a summary of the plot and then shop it around to a few acquisitions editors. If they accept your work, they'll provide you with a free editor for your draft manuscript, although that editor isn't going to put flourishes into your work.

Probably best to just focus on a chapter and see what kind of reaction you get first before you mortgage the house.

    • You sound like you’re looking for an editor in that case.

Have you considered writing in your first language so you can fully express yourself and then getting a translator followed by an editor?

People hoard their ideas because they think they are so valuable. Its the work put into an idea, not the idea itself that is valuable.

    • That is true for a lot of things especially business ideas (we all have that friend with the next big app but can't tell you the idea). However I think OP is right to be cautious in this situation as a simple novel is something that can be stolen and copied very easily, it has happened countless times in the past.

Disagree. It depends what you're doing.
I am a scientist, it's the idea that's more important more than the chump who conducts the grunt work.
By the time one becomes a Professor, they are the delegator of that work, and instead spend much and perhaps all of their time on ideas

Except isn't it citations for your papers in other people's work that is important as a scientist? Writing is the main path to success? I can't name any scientist who didn't publish any papers
