Best Affordable Suit Pants for Everyday Wear?

Looking for recommendations on some great every day suit pants for work.

For some reference about 18 months ago I purchased three pairs of navy wool blend Asos brand suit pants that fit perfectly and have lasted well until now. However they're starting to wear out and I need some new ones. They were about $30 - $40 a pair from memory. Sadly it appears Asos don't make the same wool blend pants any longer but have moved to fully synthetic pants and suits for their entry level option, see link

So any ideas or suggestions on where everyone buys theirs? Looking for something at below a $50 price point so I can buy multiple pairs to rotate. Something along the lines of Charles Tyrwhitt shirts, quality but affordable.

  • Is there that much of a point buying suit pants that will only last 18 months? I spend maybe $300 on my suit about 5 years ago now and it still looks great.

If you are wearing them every day at work, surely it's worth the investment to spend a little more than just $50.

I have no problem spending that or more on a good suit that I'll wear for events and special occasions however I find that any pants that are being worn constantly will wear out within 2 years anyway. I'm happy to spend $50 per pair and get that amount of time out of them, if you want to spend more that's up to you.

Have you considered buy 3 pairs and circulating them through the week to prolong the life to 5 years?

    • Im a huge fan of the slim fit chino pants and have 4 of them! but these are not suit pants :(

How about uniqlo wool stretch suit pants? they were $80 + $6 length alteration in-house. I've had them for about 3 weeks and think they're great - can't tell you how long they will last though.

I wear chino pants with my suites normally you can't tell. the suit pants are ok but I personally don't like them, and they do require an blind stich alteration fee which is at a reasonable price. Regardless, consider visiting Uniqlo OP/

  • You can sometimes pick up some merino trousers from Hallensteins for a good price.

  • forget pants. start a new no pants style with stylish boxers or soccer shorts

  • Anybody got any non slim fit suggestions. Pretty sure nobody in the office is interested in seeing my overweight 51 year body squeezed into slim fit pants.
