      I've definitely seen them in store at the ones I've been to in Sydney (Chatswood Chase, most recently). Can't say for sure it's everywhere though.

    I wouldn't be buying these gift cards unless you plan on using them quickly given how poorly David Jones are trading and the laws in Australia in relation to gift cards being considered unsecured creditors.

        It was a limited time special deal from earlier this year, through Employee Benefits scheme (Reward Gateway). You're right it's usually 10%.

    Thanks, bought the max allowed. Paid with AMEX (via PP) for 1.5 points per dollar. Also, dont forget the AMEX deal at DJ (assuming you saved it to your card) that is still valid, spend $40 get $15 back.

      How does Amex recognise a PayPal purchase from David Jones in this case? I would have thought it better to purchase a single $50 DJ gift card with your Amex card rather than via PayPal.

      Yes. Mine arrived in under 10 minutes. You get barcodes, card numbers and PINs. Similar to most other e-gift cards.

    i bought two lots. you have to not do it on the same network and with a different payment method.

    try using your computer and then one your phone and paying with a different card

    I did computer with amex and then phone with paypal.

      I wouldn’t be concerned. Last year there was 15% off JB cards and JB are doing just fine. Myer gift cards, on the other hand, may not be worth much soon…

      I paid via PayPal and can confirm that it has gone through as a regular purchase transaction on my Amex, not cash advance. Might be a different story if you use your credit card directly through eBay… maybe that's the difference.

      (Given this is a PayPal deal I would've thought you had to pay via PayPal anyway?)

        I did pay by paypal last time, onto my citibank visa credit card.
        I remember ringing citibank to ask why i got charged interest, and they traced it back to the gift card purchase on ebay/paypal.
        Just giving a warning in case it happens.
