Which Budget 1080p 144hz Gaming Monitor?

Hi all, Just hoping you can make sure I am on the right track before I pull the trigger on a new Gaming Monitor.

I currently have a 24" 60Hz Monitor and am looking to upgrade for "Smoother Gameplay"/Better Visuals. I have a GTX 1060 6GB and play mostly BF1, PUBG, FarCry etc. I really don't want to spend over $300-$400 where possible.

I hope to keep this new monitor for the next 3-4 years.

I'm not interested in 4k/1440p Gaming as I would need to buy a better graphics card and this would add a significant cost to my build.

I've narrowed my search down to the following monitors:
- AOC g2460pf / AOC g2460pg (Probably the Gsync model)
- Viewsonic XG2401 / XG2402 (The 02 is a newer model, but I don't think much has changed.)

The only problem with the AOC/Viewsonic is they both look like "Gaming Monitors". I was almost something a bit more standard/plain looking….

I've also found these two monitors from Dell, but I can't find a 1080p 144Hz TN Panel from Dell with 1 ms Response time :(
- Dell S2417DG (2560x1440 - Probably Overkill)
- Dell U2417H (IPS, 6ms, 60Hz - IPS Panel, but only 60Hz).

Basically, are there any of these I should select/avoid? Or am I missing anything?

Thanks

  • I was considering the Benq ZOWIE XL2411P 24". Seems to retail for $399 and looks like a normal monitor.

  • I'm not a huge fan of Acer (no real reason other than my personal experience with one of their laptops), but MSY has the Acer KG271A 27 144Hz 1ms for $369. Only has freesync though, not G-sync.

    Aesthetically bland as well.

Appreciate that you're looking for 144Hz, but a GTX 1060 6 GB has been fine for me on a 60Hz 1440p screen, giving me a steady 60 FPS in everything I've tried so far.

  • I've got the older ViewSonic and I really like it, I'd prefer higher resolution on it but I didn't want to spend more. Make sure you get some proper color profiles or whatever they're called
