Any idea what speeds are? Is it limited to 12/1 like other Optus mobile broadband

    • The page doesn’t seem to say that speeds are restricted anywhere obvious so I assume they wouldn’t be. However I didn’t go through all the T&Cs at the bottom so it might be hidden there.

      • This is a brilliant start to a pleasant war!
The good thing is that it is month to month, I am guessing you can cancel anytime you find something dodgy?

As Penguinprince said I couldn't find much in terms of speed either, but it does say in the details page:

Mobile TV and music streaming: All for use in Australia. Fair Go Policy applies. Stream SD video up to 1.5Mbps & music up to 512kbps.

      Also

Additional Data: Additional data automatically charged at $10/1GB. If you use more than 150GB we may continue to charge you at the same rates or restrict your data use until next billing period.

So it looks like they charge you if you go over your 200gig, not sure if true but from my personal opinion I used to use an Optus sim a few years back, and for some reason internet would dissapear a lot faster then it does compared to Telstra and others. I have a feeling Optus charges on like a 2mb or 10mb data limit which was why? Don't know if thats worth knowing or not, but I definitely felt like I went through internet quicker.

      • the reason it seems to go fast is that they charge download AND upload.

Yep, blow the cap and it's $10/1GB,

Think the double data deals BYO handset sim only seemed better as you also got unlimited talk and SMS, eg $50 for 30GB data doubled to 60GB data, problem is those deals are 12mth, these deals are month-month.

      • "Data will be counted in kilobytes"

    • I get 190mbps down 44 up can link speed tests, my tower isnt congested at all. :)

      • what device are you using ?

      • I get 2mbps with optus XD 250mbps with telstra

    • It's confusing that they have different offerings. The SIM only service I have which should be the same as this one gives me 100/40 speeds.

    • it's mobile, same bands and speed as phones.

The home wireless broadband has less bands and speed.

Pop one of these in a phone as the 2nd sim and you are set to go.

Speed wise, depends on device and if your device can aggregate multiple channels or not

    • I used to get 98mbps down and 48mbps up a few months ago, but I can only get 60mbps down and 15mbps up recently, for your reference.

    • 140 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up. Thats what i got. It is 4g plus network without any cap on speeds.

It's junk compared to my Telstra 4gx . Netflix streaming is .63mbs vsw Telstra 6.4mbs.

      What's that in $/sec ? :-)

Is 200gb only applied for first month? Or everytime I charge 70$ I would get 200gb

    • +2

You get 200GB per month and it costs $70 every month you stay on the plan. Month to Month means no contract you can leave the plan whenever you like.

      • It says Double Data $70 for the first month

I would read that as 200gb only for the first month, then 100gb onwards. It's not worded very well

      • -2

For month to month plan, only get 200gb for first month. if contract with modem ac800s, will get 200gb every month.

        • +2

It is 200 Gb every month. The deal is till 4th April only

    • +2

I think you get 200GB until you leave the plan. The table with all the plans doesn't say the data is only for the first month, it only says the $70 is for thr first month.

  • for 120/month you get iphone x 256gb with 200gb/month + unlimited calls n text. sell the phone n pay off the plan over 2 years. average 45- 55/month. profit.

    • +1

Not sure you understand the meaning of profit. But it's a good deal

    This deal is live again!
    Now expires 30th April 2018

    • Updated now.

  • does the sim needs to be activated before the 30th of April?
I mean if I order it on line on the 29th I won’t get the sim before few days, so what happen then? Would I still get the 200 gb?
