Recommended Car Insurance Company SA

Hello fellow Ozbargainers.

so finally am getting my P's Tuesday (just gotta go pay for the P license cost done the rest)
and I'm looking to get insurance for my car.

when on my L's I didn't think about it as I barely drove and always had someone to make sure I didn't do anything stupid.
but now that I'm on my P's soon I want insurance as if I'm going to drive I believe insurance is important.
want to get insurance in case I hit someone or property and cover the cost of my car being hit being a student I won't be able to outright buy a car, and after someone trying to do a runner on my mother (didn't rock up to court summonings), I want to avoid this. so looking for best price but not dodgy insurance company was considering RAA since I'm a member anyways but open to suggestions

Here in SA, RAA is generally well priced and offers good a good product and many crash repairers recommend them which is a good sign. However premiums can vary for each person so it is best to get some quotes online to compare - you could also try companies such as SGIC, Allianz or AAMI.

    • looking at woolworths insurance they seem even better priced just dont know anyone using them

      +1 for RAA.

Another vote for RAA, cheap and good service.

    google

    • 2 for RAA, well priced and a great NEW for OLD - IF taken out before departing the dealership, just make the arrangement for cover by phone - not the stealership.

RAA gets another vote from me. When I was doing various quotes with different insurers, RAA came out the cheapest by quite a decent margin.

I also use RAA roadside assistance. I had to use them twice when I was having problems with my car battery. Both times I was very happy with the service provided.

  • I have RAA for Third Party on one car and Allianz for Comprehensive on the other. Having just looked at all the players, RAA does seem to have the best comprehensive policy, but in my case it was one of the more expensive. Allianz with named driver discount was the best value for me. Also, no extra excess for inexperienced drivers.

  • hey guys ended up deciding on RAA seems on their third party they cover up to 3k damage to my car if someone else is at fault….. they don't advertise it well easily the cheapest I've found that does what I need here's hoping i never need to claim though :)
