Question about Amazon Shipping

Hellow everyone. First time poster here. I have yet to order anything from amazon so before ordering I wanted to know if amazon ships the item directly to the address I have provided or do I have to go the airport and fill up forms and pay some extra money ?
Also, I'm thinking of buying the Acer Swift 3 with the 8th gen chips. Any other recommendations over this laptop would be really helpful.
p.s - As this is the first time I've posted here so any recommendations would be helpful.

Amazon will ship directly to your provided address.

You will need to pay GST on your item if it is over $1000 AUD. (This is however fairly hit and miss and depends on how the item is marked).

8th gen chips are a great performance boost and I've just purchased one of the Xiaomi Air 13.3 through GeekBuying with the updated chipset and it's great.

    • eyyy !! Thanks mate.
Yeah, I wad interested in the xiaomi one myself but I kinda freaked out when I heard stories about gearbest and all those retailers.
Could I ask how's your experience with retailers like them ? i.e Gearbest, lightinthebox, geekbuying etc.

      • My Xiaomi Air didn't cop any extra GST on it either which was nice.

I used to use GearBest a heap and had no problems with them although haven't seen many deals lately.

This was my first purchase off GeekBuying and had no problems. Handling time was reasonable and once it was marked as shipped I received it within about 6-7 business days.

LightInTheBox I've had no problems with either handful of orders and all received on time and as described etc.

        • Thanks for the feedback mate. I guess I better start looking at them for future gadgets.

        • @thebargainhunterrr: I would recommend the xiaomi route, or maybe lenovo. Amazon warranty is a pain
