Double Mattress + Bed Recommendations (TAS)

Hi all,

After some recommendations for a double mattress, and bed frame. Willing to drop around $800 on both, although I favour a good mattress over a top notch frame. Looking at sealy currently. I'm in Tasmania, so there isn't an IKEA. I would prefer to buy in store so I can try. Has to be a double bed due to room size constrictions. A firm mattress would be ideal.

    Try out several bed in a box until you find the one you like?

    You may be able to buy a Sealy mattress for $800 on sale.

    As for bedframe, ebay might have something decent?

    I'm actually looking at ZZZ Atelier at the moment. I know I'm contradicting what I said about wanting to try, but they seem very affordable and have some awesome review.

    I'm looking at a double comfort+ currently.

    Here is my whinge for the day- why the bloody hell do they make double mattresses the same length as single mattresses? A king single is the length of a queen but a double is the length of a single. Makes no sense. Unless you are short your feet will often be dangling over the edge of a double. And here endeth the whinge.
