Didn't know Aliens eat rice too.

Jokes aside, why not drive to Big W to pick up a cheap one. There is one store in your area.

    • That's what I am going with. Was just asking to see if I could get one even cheaper or maybe one with more features.

The big w which I used to have can only turn off from the outlet no actual on off switch is a problem for this setup because I hate plugging in and out electronics especially when it is related to food and wet hands etc. An off on button would have been better and less stressful as the outlet is far and awkward behind some stairs so it is connecting to a daisy chain with no on off switch hanging under some stairs in a cupboard. Small nuisance I know but nonetheless still one.

  • Shrink wrap it.

Coz there is no such thing as plastic casing rice cooker.

$15 Kmart ones, probably not, but most of the mid-tier ($100-$300) are in plastic enclosures. For instance, my Tiger JAX-S10A is white ABS plastic.

That said, wtf is wrong with OPs house wiring? Chopped your earth lead? Disabled your earth leakage unit? A metal enclosed rice cooker is probably safer than a plastic one because that metal enclosure is connected to ground, and if any angry pixies managed to escape, they’d much prefer to go out the earth lead than through you.

If you’ve been shocked by a grounded metal rice cooker enclosure in your house, seek immediate electrician assistance - you’ve got bigger problems that no plastic rice cooker will fix.

      • LOL $15 rice cooker. Must be tiny.
