This 4x4km Island map is our smallest map to date and will create a much more intense, fast-paced Battle Royale experience. We want to get Codename: Savage in the hands of our players early so that we can get your feedback. With that feedback we can iterate, optimize and make it a great experience for everyone!

      Same here, the more faster paced game I feel will be more interesting. Running for 3k's to die to a sniper and having to repeat next game is kinda meh after a while. Hoping this will bring some more life to it for me.

        Exactly, I absolutely hated spending 15 minutes stocking up and running around only to get sniped or something silly. Makes me feel like I wasted my time.

          From personal experience in 150+ hours, I can only think of a handful of times being 1-hit sniped, and in most instances, it was in teams so there'd still be a good chance I could get picked up. If somebody can land a headshot while you run out in a vulnerable position, well played to them, but it rarely happens. The hackers are what cause the most issues with playability for me, one hacker can ruin the entire map.

          Thats kinda the whole point of the game, you only have the one life and it could end anytime … if you dont like it go back to CoD etc

    Looks like it is not currently functional. Has a button to authenticate with Steam, you press and it redirects you to the Steam community site. Sign in and it takes you back to the event page. Click on Authenticate With Steam, it redirects you to the community page, sign in and it takes you back to the event page. Click on Authenticate with Steam and it takes you to the Steam Community Page and so on…

      I'd recommend trying the VG Gleam link for a direct beta key.

      It's possible the direct PUBG link has finished it's current round of keys, but may refill them in the near future or (To claim your beta code, link your Steam account. You must own PUBG on Steam and your profile must be set to public during this process.).

    No OCE servers in the beta so it’s not a very good experience. Good if you wish to see the new map early though I suppose.

        Bold text is about the process of claiming the code. Well I claimed the code without owning PUBG on Steam. It appears in my list on the Steam client.

      Its a very early access test and they don't want the servers being overloaded I guess. The good news is that from playing it I can tell it's gonna be able to compete with fortnite. My games have been so much more fast-paced and fun, with plenty of loot and tons of kills.

        I didn't experience any glitches in the one match I had time to play. Other than the same gripes I've seen online for the main game of it being boring walking around collecting stuff only to be snipped by someone you can't even see shooting at you.

        Anyway I've shared the info. What you do with it is up to you.

        Love how I'm continuing to be downvoted above for daring to ask the question of whether the main game is required, despite forging ahead and managing to find it works without having the main game, and sharing that info. In fact I had to post a second comment to share that info because my first was downvoted. And now people are still griping.

        I don't expect gratitude but refraining from downvoting, complaining and making out that I'm daft for not being able to read instructions might be nice? I mean what possible motivation will people continue to have for sharing info with people who respond with a metaphoric kick in the head? Perhaps I should have just kept my mouth shut - less chance of the loophole being plugged if I do. Btw people only find loopholes by asking "stupid" questions.

    As per gleam link I now have PUBG: Closed Experimental Server in my games list, but for some reason I cannot claim the map as it seems others have. My steam account is correctly linked and my profile is set to public.

    I still get " You need to own PUBG in order to get a code. If you already own PUBG, set your Steam profile to public and try again."

    If anyone has an idea what I'm missing thank you for your time, but for others it may be a sign it doesn't always work?

    Is this meant to be a DLC when it comes out or separate game?

    It states you need to own PUBG, but then people are saying you don't need it.

    I own PUBG, so am not sure if I will eventually get this as DLC for free or what?
