Samung Galaxy S5 Stuck in Boot Loop. Any Way to Fix?

My parents Samsung Galaxy S5 was working fine and is now stuck in a boot loop. Is there any way to fix?

Was browsing the internet when the phone suddenly reset. Now when it restarts it gets stuck in a bootup loop endlessly displaying "Samsung Galaxy S5 powered by Android" then resetting.

I've booted into recovery and reset to factory /cleared cache but this does not fix the problem. Still stuck in endless boot loop. With the only way to turn of being to pull out the battery.

  • Can you boot to Download Mode, then try to reflash with Odin?

  • Happened to my S5 too.

My issue was the battery connection needed better contact.

To fix, cut and place a small piece of paper on the bottom edge of the battery to force better power connection.

    • Sounds like the battery may be the problem. Either not making good contact or on its wat out and needs replacing. As the phone will boot up to Android os fine when I connect the usb cable to a PC.

Phone is still on the original supplied Samsung battery from 2 years ago when the phone was originally purchased new and have noticed its been draining rather quickly when running.

Found this battery on eBay. Says original with NFC. As most on eBay seem to be low quality fakes without NFC.

Iv'e been stuck in boot loop for 42 years. Any way to fix?

    • Install gentoo.

    • whats the phone model and brand?

  • These issues are total prick, i feel your pain. Happened to my HTC One M9+ recently. Literally the only thing that fixed it seemed to be fixed and patience. Seriously. I recharged it fully (apparently can be caused by rebooting from flat battery while plugged in…), then did a whole heap of Restart>Boot to Recovery Mode>Wipe Cache, etc etc. It just fixed itself (happened twice now) for no apparent reason. But it did take time
