I'm after Some Wireless Speakers, Preferably Bluetooth (but Not Necessary)

Hi,

I've set up a home gym in my garage, and wan't to mount a wireless speaker in each of the upper corners of the room, so I'd need 4 speakers in total.

Are there any deals around on some sort of system like this?

The reason I'd like it to be bluetooth would be for an easier phone connection to it.

Looking to spend anywhere between $100-$400.

Thanks!

    Sonos

    • Sonos is great as its independent of your phone (can walk out and come back and music is still going) but it doesn't work with Youtube and doesn't have Bluetooth. Personally I have 4 and find the freedom of not tying my phone up great, but if you need Youtube then keep looking.

Why don’t you just get a large wireless speaker?

Mounting 4 Bluetooth speakers won’t work.

    I suggest actual wired speakers.

    • Agreed - you still need to run power to these speakers so there's got to be cable somewhere. Adding chromecast audio to regular speakers works really well.

      • Alright done with work now so I can actually reply properly.

Personally I’d invest in something like this. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/all-tv--home…

Harmon Kardon is well known for quality and I’ve tested that and it sounds excellent. Having rear and front speakers have been mostly replaced with having a sound bar for your home theatre set ups.

Another option would be a sound bar set up. You could mount it on the wall so it looks good.

  • Get 4 google homes mini and add them to a group, to play the same song at once? The sound quality isn't that good but is loud.

    • I spoke to a few friends today and 2 google home minis seems to be what would do the job. Just need to find a deal on them now.

      • i want to offload mine…PM me if u want a second hand one that was opened and used for 2 days and then put away cuz its just not our thing

  • Ultimate Ears 'Boom' Range allow 2 devices to be daisy chained to link music. Outside of that I dont think Bluetooth is a strong choice.

Sonos you wont get for your budget if you're wedded to x4 speakers.

Unless your space is huge I would personally look for two better quality speakers to do the job. Sonos would be first choice here, or you could get x3 original Google Home's.

  • Why do you need 4?

Why not get a decent pair of bookshelf speakers and a chromecast audio?

I did this recently and i've been loving it.

    I grabbed these:

or you could even get the slightly cheaper http://www.edifier.com/au/en/speakers/r1280db-bluetooth-book…

They have bluetooth as well if you don't want to bother with the Chromecast Audio.

I was really impressed with the sound quality. Rivals more expensive brands.

Can be had cheaper than RRP if you look around.

I leave the speakers on 24/7 and stream when I'm ready via Chromecast Audio, controlling the volume with my phone.
