  • Thanks OP!

  • How does dendy compare to cineplex?

    • Dendy do mostly non-mainstream movies. You can see the movies by clicking on the link, then "pick a movie".

      • I mean seating, screen size etc

        • Lots more leg room, bigger better chairs and being new it looks/feels nicer. Membership was also free for the month or so they were open. Being new the screens are good, no marks on them unlike cineplex. Most importantly there isn't 30 minutes of local ads before the movie (only about 5-10 mins)

        • @Jitesh: how big are screens compared to Vic Point or south bank?

        • @asa79: Never been to Victoria point or south bank (except the big screen there), only Balmoral so can't comment on those. Most of the cinemas at Dendy are small, screen size is good relative to cinema size but they aren't big.Similar to the small ones at Balmoral

        • @Jitesh: OK Balmoral cinema chairs are pretty old compared to south bank and Vic point

@asa79: Went to the Premium Lounge last night and was very nice. Got 2 cocktails for $20 and seats were fantastic, screen size was perfect for the small theatre. I'd probably expect that the regular cinemas would have the smaller screens like New Farm/Elizabeth. Allow a bit of extra time though as it took more than 5 minutes to find a park and they only show a 5-10 minutes of ads like Jitesh said.

  • Thanks, booked the premium lounge for the first time

  • Ask for Kane when you go in. Might yield you a better deal. ;)

  • the screens were pretty damn small when i went there. i think they have one big cinema, and one medium one. the small ones are about 10 seats across

  • Cheers OP! Keen to check the place out
