Question about Xbox One region swapping

I've got a year or so of Game Pass stacked up from all the freebie deals, and I've also got I think 8 months or so of Gold left on my account, no credit or money or anything though.

America has Clustertrucks and Late Shift, two games I was half interested in, on Game Pass at the moment, but neither is even available for purchase in Australia at the moment, which sucks ass for me.

I wanna know if I swap regions, if I will lose my Gold and or Game Pass months? I'm aware any money you have gets taken away and I'm fine on that front, but it would be pretty dumb to swap regions to get a game on Game Pass, only to lose my Game Pass in the process, you feel?

I've done it before a few times, region swapping, and the only issues I've ever run into is it seems to be a bitch to get the 360 Games with Gold to come up as being free some times, but it seems to work itself out eventually. I've never done it with Gold or Game Pass active though, and thought it was worth checking before hand. Google turned up a bunch of mixed answers with nothing definitive and I thought I'd ask here, since I don't really go on any Xbox forums or anything.

Cheers!

  • I don’t believe you would. I updated my region when I lived in the states and lost nothing, likewise when I moved back to oz. Currency yes, but any subs stayed live. Some games that were region specific just said not available in your region when I went to download a previous game that I had - forgot the titles (indie from memory) but recall that being the case. That was approx 18 months ago, not sure if that’s changed since then - doubt it.

Check the FAQs on Xbox.com as there is instructions what to do, so assume it outlines as such as well what occurs.
