    Doesn't the tag say it's $3 for the 600g / 5 pack?

    • yeah…even at $6 for the whole box is cheap…

      • Can confirm it's usually $3.80 for 5 pks in most Asian grocery stores.

  • Cons: These are probably loaded with MSG cos I feel like sh$t after eating them
Pro: They're tasty as fuark and are 50% off

PS: I havn't had one of these in like 6 years. Lucky I don't live near this particular woolworths lol

Well every Asian instant noodles brand are loaded full of MSG goodness, this is nothing compared to Indomie's Mi Goreng lol

      • -1

at least with water/soupy ones, you can pretty much discard the soup which is most of the MSG and sodium. With Mi Goreng, you're eating it dry and all of it

    • +3

MSG is in so many things, check for Flavour enhancer (621)

      MSG is fine to consume

      • +3

msg occurs naturally in large quantities in tomatoes and seaweed too..

    • Use it in buda jjigae https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/budae-jjigae and you will feel better :)

  • +3

It's per bag, not box. One box has 8 bags. Each bag has 5 packs.

  • $24 a box not the bargain we were looking for.

    Misleading post

If they stack it like that, they are probably going to end up selling boxes at $3 if you get a dopey checkout chick. I'll never forget when I bought reflex paper from BigW, scanning $5 for a whole carton instead of ream.

    • Reminds me of that legendary post of the guy going to Harvey Norman and buying a box of DDR ram for the price of a stick

Can someone please kindly confirm 1. whether nationwide, and 2. whether they are made in China or Korea?
There are 2 places of origin with similar packaging. Both can be found in local Asian grocery.
If they are made in China, I will pass and pray for my fellow ozbargainers.

I hope you pray for iPhone users too while you're at it.

I guess I am more concern about what I take into my body than some others.
China is 1. so polluted and 2. produce so many different kinds of fake "food". Such as eggs bounce like table tennis, branded milk powder formula made in industrial chemicals which killed lots of babies etc. The list goes on forever. That's why some of the NZ dairy brands refuse to set up production lines in China.
I have been trying to avoid buying and consuming Chinese food and products, as long as I can afford the alternative.

        • -1

Well you better start thinking of not breathing too chances are you are breathing the remaining fresh air from China.

        • -1

And if you are so concern about your body, you shouldn't even think about buying instant noodles to start with.

    • +1

whether they are made in China or Korea?

      Korea

      • -2

Thanks! Then this is a very good deal. as the Korean one is usually 25%-50% more expensive than then Chinese one.

        • -1

Asian grocers usually retails at $3.80 per 5 pack and made in Korea, perhaps you should shop around more.

    • I actually agree with you, I am wondering about the safety of them

    • If you are so worried about you body, you should not even eat these junk food!
Maybe your brain if full of msg or else?

  • I envy your town.. I love this my home country ramyeon. :)

  • +3

This is better than Migoreng, thanks OP, you saved some poor people like me

  • This noodle contains Very high salt content for High blood pressure sufferer so if you must , use only tiny bits of the spices and lots of Hot water to dilute the salt

    • +1

the nutrition information on the pack assumes you consume everything. If you make these with "soup" - i.e. don't just pour the flavour sachet into noodles without water - just don't drink the soup and the sodium intake will be much lower

  • $3 for 5 packs of salt is a good deal

  • good deal. I bought it for $3.80 from an asian grocery shop yesterday

  • MSG is actually GOOD for you!

MSG is in Japanese foods since WW1. You see! many of them are still around! So don't tell me MSG is bad. Maybe it's Not so bad.
