Hi All,

I am looking to buy a new phone old Nexus 6 died after months of battery issues and a failed attempt to replace the battery myself.

After a lot of searching I think I will purchase the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 6GB RAM 64GB

I found this dealbut I am wondering if there is a better deal I can get

  I'm getting the Redmi Note 5 6GB/64GB version.

  My workplace pays for phone/sim and are on Vodafone; is it worth waiting for the Global 6G/64GB version? Or the Chinese will suffice in Australia on Vodafone?

    if you just want to use it for sms and calls it is super overkill you can get a phone for like $50 that will do that and for about 2 weeks battery time

    I want it for casual gaming, constantly and I mean constantly using the portable hotspot, a nice camera for taking photos of food and landscapes, future proofing for about 8 years use and micro usb

      Oh I’m definitely a heavy user - got a 12.9” iPad now so don’t need a massive screen any more (broke my Mi Max a month back); currently using a $200 Samsung that is basically unusable for anything outside of calls.

      Just not sure if the extra bands are worth waiting for

        I owned the nexus 6 and wanted an upgrade and it had 3gbs of ram main reason for me they have a 3gb model for only $250AUD

  I just purchased 2 of the RN5's and they're a great phone. The camera is excellent and battery life is awesome.
