Seems like 4GB USB sticks are in fashion from the latest OzBargain posts.

No way to remove the stupid lockbox section. Actual available size is less than my other 4GB sticks :(

Oh well it works well enough just dont expect to fit an exact 4gb file on it.

Thought I would add, write speeds aren't too bad on this. It's not some super cheap slow drive :)

    • Can you be more specific? No "4GB" usb stick can fit an exact 4GB file on it

      • Smallest size you can make the hidden partition with the software is 4MB. I split my HD movies so they are exactly 4GB and because of the missing 4mb they won't fit. Its not a big deal, but I just hate these "value add" software things that give you no option to remove them without wasting 20mins :(

        • Do you have any other 4GB usb sticks that can fit a 4GB file?
Even if you manage to fit a 4GB file in these Imation ones, transferring it at this speed (4GB at 4MB/s) takes approximately 16 minutes!

I bought 2 of these tonight for my WDTVs… reformatted fine without that stupid lockbox 'feature'

I haven't bothered trying something like gparted yet to look at it. But out of the box not being able to remove it is a PITA.

      • i removed the two existing files just by deleting them under win 7

  • Weight: 180g … watch out, these are heavy. (joking)

  • Plenty of stock at OW Morley. I assume its the same elsewhere.

  • I got one yesterday morning.
Good price, not very good write speed( < 4MB/s)

    • agreed, 20+ avg read, 2mb average write :(

      • Crystal Disk Mark 3:
        18.74 MB/s Sequential Read
        10.75 MB/s Sequential Write

        18.78 MB/s Random 512k Read
        4.052 MB/s Random 512k Write

Might have different hardware inside with the same model number etc

4GB Kingston $8 from MSY has similar speeds to the above.

4GB Black/Red SanDisk Cruzer $10 from MSY tops out at 4MB/s sequential write… disappointed.

  • Good price, got mine latter half of last year for $9.94ish at OW.
