Looking to Grab A Quality Rug

I live near Ikea and can travel throughout metro Melbourne however, buying online is preferred. I have no idea what I'm doing. Just moved into a place that has really squeaky floorboards and emits too much sound.

This is the first time I've had to buy things like this so any help would be much appreciated.

Needing a large rug/matt plain colour for the loungeroom. I have had a terrible experience when buying 2nd hand and going to buy new.

Hey we live near each other!

    • 😂 when do they NOT have a closing down sale? LOL

we've recently purchased (well ordered anyway) a piece of carpet that will be 'edged'.

Could not find a rug the size we needed in plain black.

    .

    • Interesting, did you save money on that?

      • +1

it was cheaper than the ONLY rug we could find at that size and colour. $440 versus $590.

        3.3m x 2.4m

        .

        • My sister did similar when living in teacher accom - the department wouldn't pay for carpet, so they bought what they needed and had it edged. When they bought a house, they were able to have it laid there so it worked out very well for them.

      Where from?

Try - AURUGS they are a USA outlet but ours arrived in 7/8 day's from order. They are very large and have a huge selection! We were very happy with ours, have a look on their website.

  • Trump knows where good rugs can be had.

Hmm, they look like really bad rugs to me.

Harvey Norman has good choice of flooring, and wait till they have 40% off rugs.

For quality, go for wool or at least 80% wool

This. Also, just a tip… ask for the lowest price, be prepared to walk away, you can probably get it at 40% off even when there’s no sale on. ;)

to add to the tip - check out which manager doesn't work the weekend shift.

Then go on a weekend, ask if ____ is working which establishes that you may know that manager and your likely to get the best service you have ever received. (and price)

I will be doing that this weekend
