I ordered a new 2ds xl from the recent amazon20 deal and says it will arrive between 25~27th. None of the screen protectors I could find online had the same delivery date as the console so I figured I'd look for one offline (in-store). The only one I could find was a hori protector from ebgames for 20 bucks. My problem with it is that it's plastic and I know ill mess up and end up with bubbles. Are there any glass protectors I can get instore? or cheaper plastic ones?

JB Hi-Fi often has random accessories like screen protector and stylus packs, analogue stick covers, etc. tucked in their games section.
My problem with it is that it's plastic and I know ill mess up and end up with bubbles.
You won't find tempered glass sets. That's because the DS family use resistive screens, not capacitive. Even the random ebay products use PET for the bottom.
The Gamesmen have the Hori screen protectors for $14.95 if you're in Sydney.
If you want one ASAP, then you gotta be prepared to pay a premium (not very OzBargain-minded) ie. JB Hi-Fi and EB Games.
Otherwise, AliExpress is your cheapest option.
