excess baggage air/sea freight

Hello

Could someone suggest a company that provides cheap and reliable excess baggage air/sea freight services from Brisbane.
I need to send about 40kgs to Malaysia.
I've found Jetta and Seven Seas but would like to know of other service providers to compare prices.

Thanks very much.

  • idk what the rates are usually are
    but here are some websites

    http://www.uboxworldwide.com/
    just googled "international freight"

  • If you do not need it to reach Malaysia urgently, the cheapest way to send if would be through Australia Post sea mail for parcels. Could take from 1-3 months to arrive but would be much cheaper than anything else.

  • AusPost does not ship to Malaysia, Air Mail is $230 for 20 kg.

    • can probably try DHL if u are a student/know someone who is a student and can help you, they have pretty good student rates. I think they send 20kgs box for about $100 to malaysia. it takes about two weeks to arrive.

  • We used Jetta to send our stuff to the UK.
The main hassle was that we had to go to the freight terminal at Heathrow to pick it up and we didn't have a car. Also, it arrived on a different day to the day we arrived so it meant an extra trip to the airport.
When we sent stuff home from the UK, I broke it up into 2kg lots and sent it via surface (sea) mail with royal mail/Australia post.
A pain, but it was the cheapest and most reliable way to do it without having to pay customs charges.
