Drink Bottle on clearance at Kmart $1.50

90

Was $5! The plastic bottle has a wide opening with a simple instant-open cap so you don't have to touch it with greasy fingers or get dirt on it.

Designs include Aussie flag for Australia Day.

Based on past experience I'm pretty sure Kmart clearance items are usually uniform across all stores, but please comment if you find them at your local.

These are the Wishing Tree drink bottles which they're clearing now Christmas is over.

It should be an offense to put Australian flag on such a crappy, cheap looking item.

It was a fundraising item at that. Does that compound the issue?

If it was an offence then there are certainly far worse items that would be guilty.

PS: I take offense when people confuse offence and offense…

      • You don't need to take offense. this is exactly what i meant.
        of·fense
        [uh-fens or, for 7–9, aw-fens, of-ens] Show IPA
        –noun
        1.
a violation or breaking of a social or moral rule; transgression; sin.

    • Yeah, because we need more laws to distract the populace from the real issues. Without ideas like making it an offense to put the flag on certain items, politicians might actually be expected to do meaningful things or govern wisely! I suggest we take your idea a step further and make a law requiring a mandatory jail sentence for any bogan wearing the Australian flag. That'd accomplish so…very….much… ummm, yeah, or something.

  • Are these made of aluminium or stainless steel? The aluminium ones will have a plstic lining, but the stainless steel ones will be just stainless steel and are preferable - no plastic degradation over time or leaching into the water if left in the sun for a bit or some such.

Sorry they're plastic. Did you think they would be metal for $5? I updated the description now.

      • On clearance for a 350ml bottle, yeah, metal would be a good deal and worthy of posting here :)

      • With a fundraiser it might be plausible. I was certainly hoping for metal but thought it unlikely :P Love those things.

  • Good deal. Was at my local k-mart earlier today and they screwed me around and tried to insist they were meant to be $5 (as there were only two left and neither had a barcode) and apparently the sign saying they were reduced to $1.50 meant nothing! Wish me luck at the next closest kmart tomorrow. ;)

Plastic drink bottles have been free from nearly every school carnival/fete I've ever been to too. Most drink vendors, Coke, powerade, gatorade, etc give this stuff away all the time. Not really a deal, plastic is generic freebee crap you can get for just turning up any place a venue wants idiots to turn up at.

      • True, but in my experience they have those tops that you have to pull up with your fingers or teeth.

  • I purchased two of these just after Christmas for $1.50 each (Greensborough K-Mart). They scanned at that price and were with the Christmas stock. Very sturdy bottles and they also have another design with a picture of a dog on it.

  • Are they BPA free?
