Sunnies for Kids

Bought a pair of sunnies for my daughter (3yo) from Chemist Warehouse because she insisted and I thought why not since she didn't have one. Within a week, the lens are full of scratches.

Looked online and found Babiators has nice design and warranty but the price is very dear.

Are you any other option or I should just bite the bullet and buy a Babiator?

  • order from ebay if not in hurry.. delivered here for under $5

you don't need to buy a branded one for a young kid as he/she will break /loose a few

  • +1

MAKE SURE whatever you buy is UV400 and complies with Aussie Standards

DO NOT buy shit sunnies. Eyes are very very easily damaged by UV.

    • Yes, this is one area where OzBargain can be dangerous. DONT buy from overseas for $2.. especially for your kids. There's some stat thats something like 80% of UV damage to your eyes have occurred by age 18. Kids eyes need a LOT of protection.

All you need to make sure is you buy Australian standard compliant as oscargamer states and you'll be right. Dont buy from a market stall, dont buy if you arent 100% sure they are aussie standard compliant, and dont be fooled in thinking that a darker tint is better, for kids its actually better to have a lighter tint so that they still activate their squint reflex to a degree.

I recommend Babiators for sure, my kids have had them and they're great. The lenses will scratch, all kids sunnies will do, best way to prevent is to get a kids cord so that they dont fall and hit the ground when they invariably get knocked off.

  • Cancer council. Buy it from there for both our kids.
