  Looks like a 3 minute start time according to reviews.

  I really need an iron but have no idea what to buy. I have a TS745A which is excellent for the price I got it for, but don't know why anyone would upgrade to the Tefal Activis.

    Yes start up time is bit long.Also auto shut off is too short.
    Of you move away and come back you have to restart and wait again.
    Also no lock for the iron whch could easily slide.
    No cord storage option as wel.
    Not really happy with the purchase.
    Bought from HN for similar price
    Better spend money with some other model/brand IMHO
