How to Transfer from Citylink Account over to Eastlink (Breeze) Account?

Hey Guys,

I want to find out how to go from a Citylink account to an Eastlink (Breeze) account?

As I have heard it is slightly better, and also the Breeze has a 72 Hour travel buffer before they suspend your account if you dont have sufficient funds (I personally like to manually top up as I feel its safer and no alien deductions are going on)

I currently still have credit on the Citylink and don't want to have two accounts active..

If anyone has had experience or any insight, would be much appreciated.

Is it just a matter of signing up to a Eastlink account and then once the account is active to use up the remaining balance of Citylink and then cancel the account?

I've just gone through the exact situation as you last week, so can confirm my experiences.

Yup, this is pretty much it. Do this and you'll be sweet.

    • Appreciate the straight answer MathNerd,

      What made you jump across?

        No worries mate.

        What made you jump across?

My primary reason is AmEx acceptance without a surcharge. CityLink charges a rort at 2.15% whereas Eastlink/Breeze accept it without a surcharge.
That's enough for a business to win my custom over another competitor.
CityLink are really losing big time.

Oh yes, I agree with that as well. Such a simple thing right, yeah AMEX has surcharges, but the (profanity) make 1.8mil per day ….go figure….

Also the fact that apparently Breeze allows etag up to 4 vehicles free on each account whereas Citylink charges $50 per standard vehicle.

I just signed up , now waiting for my Citylink to drain out!

        • @jnathanc: Good stuff, hope it works out for you :)

        • @MathNerd:
          Thanks!
When I signed up , I couldn't find the exact Build year for one of the vehicles, does this matter?

@jnathanc: Nah, that's fine :) They're not going to be so pedantic! Make and model is more than enough.

  • Does Breezelink consider a dual cab ute commercial and charge a tonne more?

  • If you close your Citylink account maybe they refund the account balance if it's in credit?

    • I will actually ask about this.

Can confirm they will refund all credit remaining on account within just over 1 week.
