Recently purchased a dash cam for my Audi A4 - BlackVue 650-S 2CH with the "Magic power kit" (From eBay 10% sale) and looking to get it installed professionally (Hard wired).
Any ideas on how much should i be looking to pay?
I have been quoted $140 from Autobarn. Is that a reasonable price?

$140 is probably on the higher end of the scale. But you've bought a high-end camera in a relatively high-end car. Me personally, I'd be happy to pay a little more if it's a neat and proper install where the cables and everything are nicely hidden away.
A cheap install would be under $100.

Autobarn Camberwell (VIC) is $100 for a 2CH install. They also come to you to do the install.
Do they use their own installers employed by Autobarn Camberwell or contract out the job?
@DoctorCalculon: Well my one was a bit different. I originally booked with Autobarn Camberwell but they stuffed up my booking dates and said I could go to Autobarn Nunawading that scheduled weekend instead. When I went there, it was the Autobarn guys themselves who did the job for me as opposed to an external contractor.
That's pretty decent price, I know how to hardwire kit but at that price I rather pay someone then do it myself
I have ones used airtasker to get a dashcam fixed hard-wired, this guy did an excellent job here in Tullamarine, Melbourne. Costed me about 45$ after using 25$ airtasker voucher.
Try airtasker and look at the completed jobs to get a cue on their skills.
Airtasker has introduced new "badges" so you can tell if the person is "trained and registered"
so you should be able to find a good auto elec on there now
I am also looking for installer as well :) might try airtasker.
I paid my mechanic $20 to connect the power magic pro and hooked the rest up myself. Worked perfectly for 3 years so far. Gold Coast though
I just bought a new car a ford and I asked the dealer about getting a dashcam installed front and back and they wanted a $1000 supplied and fitted I nearly fell off the chair I said no !!!
Sry to revive this old thread. Just called AutoBahn, they now charge $200 to hardwired install a 2ch dashcam ?
Ring another store and compare prices.
I got one from the 30% off sale back in August. The first store (where I bought it) wanted $180 but I called another who quoted $150 so I went with them. It turns out you need another part for the fuse so that costs $10 so they charged $140 for install and the extra $10 so it was still $150.
Just called 5 shops. 3 @ $200, 1 at $250 and another at $260 :(
That's odd, maybe they jacked up the prices.

@2fiddy: Damn, they must have changed their supplier as it used to be normally $120 for 2ch and $100 for 1ch. Extra discount on top if you happen to purchase it at that store (or are friendly with the guy).
I wonder what happened to pump up the price so much.
just had mine Blackvue 2ch 650 installed today on my bimmer in Melton west garage audio and car audio installation. I bought the cam from online. Quoted 80 for labour and the guy also helped me sort the head up display : ) done less than an hour. very happy with the result !
Just had my Blackvue DR900S with Power Magic Pro installed by Orlando from Get Installed. $150 onsite installation, stress free and great job. Highly recommend.
What states do they operate in?

perhaps i will call autobarn and check out the prices
I think thats an ok price for 2ch installation.
