$299 with $9.95 shipping any state in AU….

Is it a decent netbook or is the e-machine @ OW a better option?

  • No CD/DVD drive? Or is that common to netbooks?

    • common for netbooks
netbooks with an optical drive usually are $450+
i would say that this netbook is a no deal for me
i got this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/37124, and COTD's netbook is basically the same as the eMachine for $160

  • $299 for an older, less efficient N270-based netbook for which they don't even tell you the brand (even though you could perhaps infer it from the pics) doesn't sound like that great a deal. Six months ago they were offering an Asus N450 6-cell for $269 ($299 with $30 cashback).

The built-in 3G might be a clincher though - that's a pretty attractive feature and was a pretty rare one last time I was in the market for netbooks, but perhaps that's changed more recently.

  • Almost certain these are Samsungs…possibly N220 plus?

  • The first one with the N270 processor is definately the SAMSUNG NC10 with 3G option.

Can't say I'm in the market for one, but it's probably not a bad deal, but not as earth shattering as they make it sound. Anyway, it got a good cnet review for what it's worth: http://www.cnet.com.au/samsung-nc10-339298720.htm

  • Second one looks to be Samsung N220.. maybe N210, but probably N220

A deal has been created, i'll close here, and direct everyone there.

    davo
