Canon EOS 1100D- How to Find How Much % Battery Is Charged or Remaining?

Lost battery charger for my Canon EOS 1100D. But I presume I can charge the battery by using its data cable connected to the laptop, right?

Also, how do I know how much % battery is charged or is remaining? I tried to find option from MENU but unable to locate it. Any idea?

  • Probably not, those cables are for data.

  • You cannot charge from USB.
    You need a battery charger.
    Try eBay.

Some canons don't show battery percentage.
    Some do.

Try googling online for the Manual.

  • Congratulations on finally getting a DSLR!

  • The canon EOS series tends to have a battery on screen that has three segments to show you how full it is. When it's really empty it will be empty and flash. I often just turn it off for a few minutes then back on and it'll work a bit longer.

Though as others have said, you need to physically charge the battery pack. This will cost $20-70 depending on where you get it.

  • As others have said you can’t use the data cable to charge it.

  • You can use a USB cable and use the black and red cable, but it is slow and is dangerous.
