Guess Shoes Online Sent Incorrect Size

Hi,

I bought two pairs of shoes mentioned here:
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/35452

I ordered size 11 assuming it'd be Australian size 11, but actually sent me US size 11. From my understanding this is Australian size 10.

"When shopping at GUESS.com, all our footwear sizes are shown in standard Australian/US sizes"
from http://shop.guess.net.au/www/615/1001172/displayarticle/1026…

Now from my own experiences and various size conversion websites Australian mens sizes are not equal to US mens sizes.

They offered for me to return them or swap them over but I'd have to pay postage.

Is this their mistake? I mean they sent me the incorrect size? More importantly, why isn't anyone else complaining? Didn't anyone else buy shoes that day?

Update: http://www.aussiethings.com.au/articles.php?article=13 shows that WOMEN'S shoe sizes are the same for US and Australia but http://www.i18nguy.com/l10n/shoes.html website shows a big difference between US and Australian sizes for womens.

    • Don't worry cuteduck! Busbrands (the parent company) was closed until 10th Jan. The person in charge of Guess Online sales only just came back on the 11th Jan. Try calling now!

  • Australian Sizes? Is there such a thing? .. we use the american standard sizes

    • I hope what you're saying is correct!
I got the idea of Aus and US shoe sizes from a pair of Colorado shoes that have AUS Size: 11 / US Size: 12.

I can't find any references online though?

Sounds like the company is living up to its name. :)

  • I reckon it's just a sizing variation.

I can't believe that people would buy shoes without trying them on - there is a MASSIVE variatipon between the size of different styles, let alone between brands or countries. My own shoes range from size 11 to size 13, and all were purchased in Australia.

    • Yeh I have experienced that too!
I think it is too dangerous to order shoes online :)

I tried on my Florsheims in store then went and bought them online when Florsheim had their 50% off sale.
The only exception to that rule…
I was interested in getting some GUESS, but there was no way I'd buy without trying on a pair not only for size, but also comfort!
