difference between models providing bottle fittings current style is just the lights to time how much gas has gone in …. mine has a 3 light timer, can just as easily count to 5 in your head if you have a more basic model or what ever level of carbonation you want.
also some come with starter gas bottle and some with a full bottle, but changeovers seem to be cheap and easily available.
you don’t get much more in the higher priced models BUT just make sure it takes the current type water bottles not the older style

the 2.6kg one has about 8 times the amount of CO2 as the sodastream canisters and your local home brew store can swap it over for ~$25
Of course you might have to stick it in the garage.
Do all soda stream me models have the same fitting size ?
I noticed the adaptor hose comes in 32" & 72"
That just sounds like the length of the hose, not the fitting?

interesting alternative as we head towards not exporting our plastics for recycling.
i have owned a sofa stream for 2 years now, and it has been ok, though so do need to make sure you have extra bottles so you always have cold water in the fridge ready to carbonate.
