How do I find the best adsl without having to connect with a phone?
Was on Optus cable at $60 + $10 for local and international calls.
Are speeds bad on adsl?
No NBN yet.
Am looking for the best value for money plans which let me get a decent speed and calls.
Do not use my mobile much except to receive calls.
Prefer short plans as NBN may come soon to Frankston.
yes I went there but the offerings are not cheaper than what I was paying optus for cable.
unfortunately new address does not have optus cable. or optus.
According to NBN Website, Frankston NBN is supposed to be active in July 2018. Perhaps a mobile plan / hotspot if you live by yourself

Keep the Optus cable and then switch to nbn when the guys comes knocking on your door.

optus does not service the new area.
If you can find a 'Fon Wifi' accessable from home, you might be able to bludge off a Telstra Air account.
I'm in the exact same situation so if I can get that working I will be using that, with the TPG unlimited 4g for $10 as a backup
Last time I looked Naked DSL was a dead end. A lot of hype 10 years ago but all fizzle since then. Last I checked most companies (TPG) sell their own version of naked dsl+phone for less than straight naked dsl.
thinking of going with spintel. money magazine has good reviews. but productreview.com.au had bad ones. any advice on spintel?
tried mate. they told me there were no ports at my exchange! they told me to get a telstra cable.
but spintel told me there were ports.
also looked at tpg and a few others but they are more expensive.
I only want it for websurfing, emails, some personal research on my pet hobbies via reading on the net, and some minor you tube watching etc.
