I was about to grab these from JB with their 20% off deal which made each series (there are 3) $20, but I thought I'd check Amazon UK prices first.
The full series is listed at £27.87 but after going through the checkout process ended up being £23.23 plus £3.68 for shipping.
At today's exchange rate that's about $43! Anyway, seemed like a decent deal to pop my OzBargain cherry with.

What's it about?
The show is set in the 1870s in Deadwood, South Dakota, before and after the area's annexation by the Dakota Territory. The series charts Deadwood's growth from camp to town, incorporating themes ranging from the formation of communities to western capitalism. The show features a large ensemble cast, and many historical figures appear as characters on the show—such as Seth Bullock, Al Swearengen, Wild Bill Hickok, Sol Star, Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp, E. B. Farnum, Charlie Utter, and George Hearst. The plot lines involving these characters include historical truths as well as substantial fictional elements. Some of the characters are fully fictional, although they may have been based on actual persons. Deadwood received wide critical acclaim, particularly for Milch's writing and Ian McShane's co-lead performance.[3] It also won eight Emmy Awards (in 28 nominations) and one Golden Globe.

i scored the dvd collectors set (wooden box, poker chips, shot glasses and 2x decsk of cards) for xmas a few years back. at the time, JB was clearing the collectors set out for $70
possibly my favourite tv series to date, wish it continued :(
Not as good as The Wire, but still terrific :)
HBO didn't actually finish this show, they just stopped it without a finale.
(Deadwood was supposed to burn to the ground like in real life history and Al Swearengen was supposed to leave penniless)
I emailed HBO a few years ago and said I will never buy the dvd box set.
Yeah I regret buying this boxset as it was axed for no reason with no finale.
HBO do not deserve to make any money from the sale of Deadwood dvd's

Some JB's near me (newcastle area) have been selling the poker set edition for $69 over xmas and some still had stock the other week, so would be a good buy during the 20% off
Complete Series??? Where's series 4 which ties everything up? Oh, that's right the show was axed. If you want watch inexcess of 40 hours television and not have any closure, then buy it and watch this.
HBO did the same with the excellent series Carnivàle about Carnys in the Great Depression in America's dust bowl! grr

errr, who cares if it doesn't have a finale? Seasons 1-3 are great! Just film yourself and a bunch of friends in cowboys hats, swearing lots and make a bonfire - FINALE!
Absolutely insanely good series! MUST BUY! I've got all 3 seasons already.
Would buy again (on BluRay!)
