Recontracted a day before double data. Is it too bad, so sad?

As the title says.

Recontracted, then found out about double data the next day.

With Optus.

I contacted them less than 24 hours after my order was approved but was told they couldn't do anything. (Online chat)

I'm probably pushing the proverbial, but I thought I would ask just in case anyone here has some insight.

Thanks. :)

  • Does the cooling-off period apply to your situation? https://www.tio.com.au/publications/news/cancelling-a-contra…

    • Agree. There is cooling off.

Just make up something like bad receptions etc. keep saying you know about cooling off period and want to exercise it.

      • I've been with Floptus for 20 years, so not sure that would work!

    • I did it online. Not unsolicited, so I don't think so.

    • +1

No cooling off period if you contact the Telco and initiate contract process. If they had called him it would be a different story.

      • Yup, this explained by the TIO per link provided. Hence why I asked the OP whether the cooling-off period applied to his situation - which depends on who initiated the contract- this details was not in the post.

  • Try contacting customer service and asking them if you could get double data anyway. They may consider it seeing as you recontracted with them

    • Thanks. Yeah, I'll give them a try in the morning.
