Was just on Bigw website and saw this TV with $150 OFF… Dick smith has it for $699 and couldnt really find another place that sold them.Bigw had them for $498 on sale end of last year looking at an ozbargain search and now its an extra $50 off that sale price…..

But $448 for a 32INCH FULL HD LED super slim TV is the best ive seen. Not too sure about picture quality but the reviews seem good.

The Sanyo 32'' 1080P HD LED TV has an integrated HD Digital Tuner that will allow you to watch free-to-air HD channels. This HD TV supports 1920 x 1080 resolution and features 3 HDMI inputs, a time shift function, touch key controls and 6000:1 contrast ratio.

DSE seems to sell a 100HZ version of the TV while BigW one is not, website below with specs for BigW

Perhaps Dick Smith read your post. They have now matched the price:

Thats just the LCD version, this is the Super slim LED version that Dick smiths sells for $699.

So for the same price as the LCD version BIGW has an LED

        Ooops!

      • just to let you know, this is NOT the same TV as the one at DSE.
        LED32XR10F is BigW
        LED32XR10FH is DSE.

I suspect the only difference is the bigw model is not 100Hz, whereas the dse version is.

        • yes looks like your right… just checked sanyo's website and they only sell the LED32XR10F at BigW and the FH at DSE so cant compare different retailers pricing, but for an LED 32 inch FULL HD its got to be the cheapest one out there

    $425.6 with staff discount

    • Staff discount me plz :P

    • how do you get staff discount online?

      • +1

If its like dick smith you put the number on your staff discount card in the field for entering the everyday rewards card number.

        • hmm tried the number on the back of the card.. seems to be not long enough. anyone got a staff card to use lol

  • can you use this Sanyo TV optionally as monitor to your laptop? if yes what interface would you use?

    • +1

Yes. providing the laptop will output 1920 x 1080 it'll work bicely.

You can use the VGA port. Or, if your laptop has DVI, you could get a DVI > HDMI adapter and use that for a digital signal (better clarity)

      • that's cool, thanks llama

      • +2

I have tried using connection using HDMI and also VGA on this TV.
Somehow it is much better using the VGA.
        The picture is more clearer.

I have actually tried using my netbook on this TV (which don't output 1920 x 1080).
Set it up so it only shows the netbook display on the TV and then
change the TV Aspect Ratio to 1:1 Pixel mapping and you'll get 1920 x 1080 resolution :)

  • Was in Big W yesterday and found it funny that the LCD version is more expensive than the LED LCD.
    Sanyo 32" HD LCD TV With HD Tuner - LCD32XR9DA @ $596:
    http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics/televisions/LCDTV/bpnBIGW…

This LED was $548 or something like that.

  • Can you get extended warranty?

  • Nice find urbanski415 ; )

Just couldn't get past that grey bezel on the bottom part of that Sony KDL32EX400, plus it was very chunky…

Looks like this Sanyo has some sort of PVR function too…perfect :D

    • My review of the TV

Good overall TV , you get what you pay for!

      Pros-
      *Nice clear image
      *good colours
      *awesome price
*Plays Xvid/Divx vids from a USB powered 2.5" hard drive
*Record TV when you plug in a USB powered hard drive or USB stick.

      Negatives -
*High power usage, users twice as much power as a SONY LCD TV's and 3 times more power then a SONY LED TV - BIG SANYO FAIL here.
*100Hz Image is more framey then Sony's 50hz image proccessing
so the SONY 50hz LCD that came in that PS3 deal looks smoother in motion then
      SANYO 100hz LED.

Overall its not as good as the 50hz Samsung and Sony TV's if you can get a Samsung LA32C550 from Bing Lee for $490 haggled ( Bing lee's pre haggle price is $599 ) then your better off with the Samsung. Less power usage, better smoother image and a much much better video playback through usb with mkv video support and a few extra net TV functions and eithernet connection.

Unless you MUST have slim TV your better served with a LA32C550 for $20-$30 more.

      • I think this is the DSE version of the TV, BigW version is 5 Star energy rating while DSE one is 3.5 star…. also Bigw one is 50 or 60HZ(not too sure) and DSE is 100HZ

      • You know that when we need to concentrate so hard on finding the right tv set that will correct motion judder -of full HD of only 24 hz-we could easily think full HD has not delivered when its at the cost of pathetic frame rates.

        • +1

Yeah its a shame LCD / LCD LED TV's dont have good frame rate unless there 100Hz from a GOOD brand

          Plasma doesnt have this problem

  • +1

I got this TV from big W when it was $498.
The energy rating is 5 star.
    Can do 50Hz and 60Hz.
It also has a USB plug that you can put your external HD to watch movies.
Can read .avi, .mov but can't read mkv files.
Overall I'm happy with this TV from Big W.
    Go buy one people :)

    • Hi isudiro,

I am thinking of getting this one too. the price is affordable and I am not so fussy with bluray. in fact, i havent watched a bluray movie.

My only concern is the VERY SLOW response time of this TV. have you got any problems with fast-moving scenes (motion lagging like watching a car racing or a tennis play???).

I am thinking of either this one, or a little bit more to get that LG 32" LED $598.
      http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/televisions/LEDTV/bpnBI…

Sadly couldnt find that LG's model to make a good research, but big W said it has 3ms response time (comparing with Sanyo's 8ms).

Definitely not into the Sony Bravia 32" LCD + DVDs + Bluray (698$ deal).

      Thanks.

  • Both the DSE and Big W tv seem like great deals. I think the DSE one also has some type of recording function where you can record to USB.

  • says 'Online only special' but also 'Currently unavailable online'

i wonder if its sold out?

    • looks like its back in stock now.
