Logitech G9X from eBay?

Since there was no deal on the G9X from logitechshop, and it also seems to have vanished from their shop, I thought I would look elsewhere.

I found this seller selling it for $83 AUD delivered.

My only question is if Logitech Australia would do warranty on it?

  • Dunno re: warranty on a personal import like that. Can't see anything specific on the webpage

But there are few stories on Whirlpool of them requiring proof of purchase, and that items must be returned via a retailer.

This thread is typical (LOL at fluidtek) and there is a trick in there if you read between the lines….

I saw these M950's in there at $59.95 which is pretty good (best price on ebay is $69.95 from logitechshop too).

My MX Revolution needs it's microswitches repaired (doing the double-click problem), and buying that M950 would be a lazy solution. (It's pretty easy to fix the switches, but fiddly and easy for everything to go "sproing" when you open it - I've done a few previously and learnt the hard way)

  • Bought and love the G9x.

I wanted to be able to return it if I had problems, so I got Harvey Norman to price match Umart.
(I realise you can return to Umart.. but I mean problems.. as in I find the product is unusable.. I have a unique right hand due to a car accident)

Some officeworks stores have had them, and they beat prices by 5%.

Umart currenly have them at $104.

  • If this is for gaming I highly recommend the Logitech G500 instead. It sells for $75 AUD locally — much cheaper than the G9x and just as good.

    • I currently have the G5, and that looks the same.

I like the hand design of the G9X.

      • +1

The G500 is much better than the G5. Upgraded to it when my old G5's mousewheel broke (which is the first thing to break in many logitech mice). Yes, it feels the same but it has a raft of new features, and is also more durable.

Spec-for-spec, the G9x and G500 are similar but the major difference is in the interchangeable grip.
Different ergonomics, I guess, you'd probably want something that feels different once you've gotten used to it.

        • I bought a couple of g9x's from the last JB hi-fi mess up for $69, still have one in cupboard ,boxed with the receipt. Not sure if I want to sell it tho..

Great mouse, I also found the G5 pretty comfortable, but the G9 has more features and you get used to the feel.

I'll have a think about it tonight and let you know.
