  • Vendor in title please.

  • What’s the frame size?

  • anyone else having trouble at checkout or estimating shipping costs?

Seems like a nice bike, anyone any experience with Avanti?

    • It won't accept postal code for me.

Why do they leave out one of the most important specs - the weight?

Not sure on specs but this bike is similar in price, so it might be worth comparing for those interested -

bike brands tend to not disclose numbers on their lower end bikes as theyre usually pretty terrible numbers…;)

the 2016 model was on wiggle

according to staff responding to QA

      This bike weighs approximately 12.5kg.

Avanti are a New Zealand brand and have a reasonable reputation among the more budget brands, but they do have some more series bikes too (see links below). Like most bikes they will be made in China or Taiwan, quite possibly in the same factory as many other brands.

This deal is for a lower end commuter bike, but it's not bad value for what it is, and that's all many people will want. Depends what you're after.

There are no cheaper deals on this bike on bike exchange, but there are some similarly equipped bikes by Trek and Apollo and possibly other decent brands for the same price. See https://www.bikeexchange.com.au/s/flat-bar-road-bikes?sort-b…

Lots of places are selling more serious road bikes from $500 at the moment. See https://www.bikeexchange.com.au/s/road-bikes?brand-ids=42-97…

Keep in mind that you may see cheaper prices in store. For example I saw brand new Giant Contend 1 for $799 and Contend 2 for $699 the other day at my local Giant shop, neither of which show up in bike exchange. These are both much lighter and sleeker bikes than the bike in this deal made for low end road racing, one with better derailleurs.
