This is a niche product for those that always wanted a power meter but couldn't justify the cost. Its a terrific deal. This is the cheapest price I have ever seen on the 4iiii Precision power meter. Its the cheapest price I have ever seen on ANY power meter from a major brand. It is a left side only power meter so if you are a pro team rider it just won't do but for normal mortals it is an excellent choice. In many ways absolute accuracy is a pipe dream and repeatability is more important. Review by the guru Ray Maker (DCRainmaker):

4iiii have a new meter in the pipeline ( though it seems to be endlessly delayed). I think the new one has a rechargeable battery but uses the same strain gauge technology. Personally I prefer a meter with the 2032 coin batteries which can last up to a year and are cheap and widely available.

Would be nice if they had the same price on the Ultegra R8000.

    • It's compatible. Will just look different

6800 is only US$12 more, which makes it the bigger discount deal.

  • This is a good deal

  • Noob question, my crankset is a praxis works, turn zayante BB30, 50/34. Will this power meter work for my bike?

    Bought one.
Don't know what a power meter is but since its on ozbargain, it must be worth it.

…you at least have a bike to put it on yeh? :P

      • +7

        The $99 one from Rebel?

    • +5

Stick it in a power socket and use to check current…

    This is a good deal

4iii = much better than stages

    Strain gauges are cheap.
I guess there are only expensive because so few people want them. A heartrate monitor is so much more useful.

    • +2

      Well that is rubbish.

HR is good to a point but is no where near as handy as a PM for training or racing.

    • It has to work with Bluetooth and Ant+ as lightweight as possible for at least 100 hours movement time.

They are Chinese modules at about $150 + crank value.

Wait till JV realises this doesn't come with a pedal or a bike :-P

    • +1

      Or chainrings

      • +1

        Or a chauffeur…

  • Thanks for posting. These rarely go on special!

    Actually has it disappeared???
Can't seem to find the deal anymore?

    • +1

If you change the shipping and currency to Au at the top of the page, the page can't be found.
If you change it back to US shiping it comes back. Price is US and not AU .

  • +3

Isn't the price quoted in USD?

    • Indeed. I think you are correct, sadly. No deal. :(

  • Page says A$520.99 - 10% = $468.89??

  • Been waiting ages for this! Thanks OP

  • Ah yep it's definitely USD. I progressed through to paypal checkout to confirm.

would this be good for a kids bike (ie would they want t as a birthday present?)

    • +1

Not unless they are in racing club and really serious about training.

  • Damn didn't work.

  • dammit, even if its a bit of savings they are so dam expensive!! I should really get one to improve my fitness.

  • What does it do?

    • …it goes on the non drive side between the bottom bracket and the pedal. you use your left leg to engage it.
      …hope that helps!

    • +3

They tell you how much power you are pedaling with.
This is most useful for pacing yourself, hold a constant 200W uphill, downhill, flat so that you stay in the zone you know you can maintain the whole ride rather than burning out halfway.

It is for the racing cycle enthusiast.

Thank you for explaining. I read up to this point and could only tell it had something to do with bicycles, and power, but that was all :-)

  • US$400 is the normal going rate for these, the RRP reduction isn't really true.
10% code is a discount though.

Ultegra 6800 has a real RRP reduction.

  • Great deal on the Ultegra Powermeter. Just make sure to check your frame clearance before buying it. See here: https://4iiii-innovations.myshopify.com/collections/power-me…
