  How well would these work as a ghetto sound bar for a rumpus room setup (5 x 5)?

  Just purchased a cheap 55" tv and will need something with a bit more sound. Room will only be used for watching the footy and kids watching movies. Don't need a home theatre setup but just want something that has a bit more impact than the tv speakers

    I would get a proper 2.0 setup instead. The Edifier deal posted today would be better for your purpose. The portable bluetooth speakers are more suitable for travelling and outdoors.
