Cheap Graphics Cards from China on eBay what's the deal?

https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/GTX1060-3GB-DDR5-192Bit-Game-Graph…

FINAL CONCLUSION

The super cheap graphics cards on eBay from China are modified to look legit but are in fact actually not what they advertise and thus therefore FAKE.

There are tonnes of these now popping up some before looked real at $100 AUD delivered but now they are just super low at like $20-30 AUD delivered.

What's going on here does anybody know?

Are they legit cards or not.

Have they just been mined into insanity.

Are they scams, what do you actually get?

Have always been curious about these auctions.

Can anybody shed some light on this mystery or anyone actually tried some.

EBay seems to let them keep doing this so I have no idea.

Especially with the crazy gpu prices I can only wonder.

  • Considering the price, I would consider them fake, probably modified firmware to show up as a 1060.

In saying that nVidia just released a GTX 1060 3GB variant.

You mean a 1050? GTX 1060 3GB have been out for ages.

      • GTX 1060 5GB

      • Yep 1050, typo sorry about that.

        • Goodness. Some things just don't make sense anymore.

I wonder how Nvidia will price that new card.

They are modified in firmware to show up as whatever they wish. The GPU itself will be something ancient like a 200 series and will glitch out like you are on LSD when attempting to play a game.

In saying that… that there is an auction, so it's possible they are real if they are selling for decent money and the seller isn't new on ebay etc.

Fake Do you see a name at all to indicate who made it? i don't think people can make gpu's at home so someone had to of made it.
    fake as hell.

  • Something suss, if they can't sell it anywhere near that price on Taobao what hope have you got this is going to be legit? Unless a mining farms offloading used cards but even that rationale would be a stretch.

  • They're fake. I have come across ones labelled as GTX 1050ti but were actually GT 450. They're doing the rounds worldwide and fooling a lot of people.

  • Auction and don't pay more than $30, then test it out. If it's real you win, if it is fake, PayPal dispute them.

  • Either fake or they will not send anything anyway. Don't bother.

  • Videos on YouTube shows they're all fake. It shows as whatever you bought, but the performance is no where ear. Stay away

    • Thanks this is so far the best answer with some sources and legitimacy to their statement.

Final conclusion: The super cheap graphics cards on eBay from China are modified to look legit but are in fact actually not what they advertise and thus therefore FAKE.
