Bronze Hoyt's Members Can No Longer Redeem Points

Has anyone noticed that since the new Hoyt's website that Bronze members can no longer redeem their points (Hoyt's Dollars) for candy bar items and tickets. A look at their T&C:

(b) HOYTS Dollars Earn and Redemption:
- HOYTS Dollars can only be earned on the Silver membership Tier.Exclusions to certain ticket types and limitations apply. HOYTS Dollars cannot be earned or redeemed by Bronze Tier members.

  • Bronze members are able to upgrade to the Silver Tier at any time during their membership and start earning HOYTS Dollars, by changing their membership Tier online at hoyts.com.au or in Cinema. A fee applies for membership Tier changes.

  • The term “HOYTS Dollars” means the HOYTS Dollars awarded for purchases made by a HOYTS Rewards Member of any Tier except Bronze.

So it seems that points can longer be earned on the bronze membership and this is their way of forcing you to pay $13 for the silver membership to get any sort of loyalty rewards.

    Don't be loyal to Hoyts.

    • Bit hard when they are the only cinema with reclining seats in my area and I get discount tickets.

    • That sucks!!! Its already soo expensive to go watch a movie these days even with the discount tickets which have limitations(friday&saturday nights)its a joke!!!!A night out with the kids puts me back 120$ on a friday and that's discount tickets and popcorn/ drink to sharefor 1 adult 3 kids. There's a cinema franchise called readingcinemas.com.au in Australia and they're much cheaper, half what you pay at hoyts and village, just as good too
