IT Waveglider Frameless Suitcase 51cm £34.99 (~$61.81 AU) + £0.99 Delivery @ Sports Direct

100

After seeing some luggage deals around on OzBargain I went hunting for a <55cm carry-on spinner case and I found this.

Height: 53cm
Width: 36cm
Depth: 23cm + 7cm (expansion zip)
Weight: 2.82kg
Capacity: 47L

Single expander from the middle (25% extra space)
Telescopic handle
Frameless construction
Hard shell
5 year warranty

This fits in within most airline's carry-on restrictions including Qantas, Jetstar, Cathay Pacific and Air New Zealand. Surprisingly not allowed on Virgin Australia as they only allow two small bags (up to 48cm long) or a small bag and a suit-pack.

I bought two of them for some up-coming holidays.

Don't forget to change the currency to GBP and pay using a international-fee free card like 28 Degrees.

  • isnt this too heavy for carry-on?

    • Maximum is 7kg. You'll pay a lot for a hard case that's under 2kg.

I got charged 60 bucks with SH*TSTAR yesterday at SYD. my suit case was 7.2kg, but obviously my jumpers for winter Melb & a laptop exceeded that.
TOTAL BS, I should thank them not asking me to strip down to pay more by the sound of rude staff.
so, you can only carry 4kgs actual stuff with you if you get this.
I dont like to wait for claiming luggage and the way they handle it.

    • I feel for you buddy. I also got charged $60 by Jetstar last Saturday coming from Sydney to Melbourne. The joke was that I barely had anything in that suitcase too and I have one of those IT Luggage light carry-ons. They really need to increase the limit. 7kg is an absolute joke! Even RyanAir has a 10 kg limit and Easyjet, no limit. FYI, they were super rude to me too.

I’d just take the jacket or 200 grams of whatever off the bag and carry it, I assume you couldn’t for some reason.

  • Code CL20 works for luggage?if so wait until 27/05 9:00am to get 20% offer.

    • CL20 was for clothing and has expired.

      • CL20 will back on 27/05 9:00am Melbourne time

  • Pretty sure virgin does allow carry ons of this style, just smaller ones.

    • Yeah 48cm not 53cm

  • This one is slightly more expensive ($80 delivered) but only 2.2kg:

    • Lighter due to soft shell.

I actually prefer soft shells for carry-on as they are lighter, has useful exterior pockets, and don’t need as much protection as a check-in lugguage, in which case you’d want a hard shell.
